Vietnamese students in the Republic of Korea came together for the 10th annual Vietnamese Students’ Day on September 21 at Soongsil University in Seoul.
Participants included the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh, Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Pham Huu Chi, the Chairman of HANSHIN Engineering & Construction Limited Company Choi Young Sun, the Vice Chairman of Soongsil University, and other representatives.
This annual event provides the chance for more than 5,000 Vietnamese students studying in the RoK to exchange their experiences, strengthen solidarity, and promote Vietnam to their international friends.
Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Huu Chi highly praised the achievements of the Vietnam Students Association in Korea (VSAK), and the Vietnamese students’ excellent academic performances and community contributions during the 2013-2014 academic year.
Minister Hoang Tuan Anh called upon the Vietnamese students in the RoK to work even harder in their academic and extracurricular pursuits and act as a bridge between the two countries.
On this occasion, 13 groups and individuals were awarded certificates for their outstanding academic work and community service. HANSHIN also granted scholarships to the ten best Vietnamese students.-VNA
