The Vietnam Youth and Student Association (VYSA) in Japan held its congress for the 2012-2013 term on Jan. 15.
According to reports delivered at the congress, in 2011, VYSA chapters organised many practical and useful activities that helped consolidate and strengthen solidarity and mutual support among Vietnamese youths and students in Japan as well as promote the image of Vietnam to the Japanese community and further tighten the Vietnam-Japan friendship.
In November 2011, VYSA chapter in Kanto successfully hosted a charitable music gala entitled “Journey to Vietnam 3” to raise funds for earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan .
At the congress, VYSA announced a new executive committee for the 2012-2013 term and said that in 2012, the association will consolidate and expand the network of Vietnamese youths and students in Japan and strengthen cultural exchange activities between the two nations.
Cultural Counsellor of the Vietnamese Embassy Do Van Trung spoke highly of VYSA’s activities towards the Vietnamese community in Japan , thus enhancing the friendship between the two countries’ people.
On the occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Students’ Association and the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan presented the “January Star” award and certificates of merit to those who made outstanding contributions to the movements of Vietnamese youth and students in Japan in 2011./.
