A team of Vietnamese students from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) Vietnam made the top four of the company KPMG’s 2012 International Competition (KIC)held recently in Hong Kong.
This is the first time that a Vietnamese team has joined in the contest, but it was able to surpass several strong teams from the UK, US, Japan, France and China.
KIC, a global student recruitment initiative, now in its ninth year, attracted almost 6,000 students from more than 300 universities in 24 countries in the competition to develop solutions to realistic business scenarios.
This year, in the final, the teams from Hong Kong, Vietnam, Spain and Sweden, were asked to consider how an international airline should strategically address current challengesand the competition it faces in its domestic market as well as across its region. The challenge was to prepare a compelling set of recommendations and an engaging presentation for a panel of KPMG’s leaders from around the world.
The team from the University of Hong Kong was eventually declared the winners.
