Vietnamese, Thai publishers seek partnerships

Hanoi (VNA) – The ThaiEmbassy in Vietnam and the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailandco-organised a networking event in Hanoi on May 22 to connect Vietnamese andThai publishing companies.

Trade Counselor at the ThaiEmbassy Pannakarn Jiamsuchon said the event aimed at linking publishers fromthe two countries, helping them exchange printing technologies for betterquality.

The official expressed her hopethat a similar event with larger scale will be held next year and more Thaipublications will be introduced to Vietnamese readers.

Suchada Sahasakul, President ofthe Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand, said this was the firstnetworking event between publishing companies of the two countries and thereremain great potential for cooperation in this field.

She added that Vietnamese readerslike Thai children books and novels, of which many have been adapted intofilms.

According to her, 11 Thai firmsattended the event, including Praphansarn Publishing Co. Ltd, one of the mostprestigious publishers in Thailand with a 60-year development history.

The Publishers and BooksellersAssociation of Thailand said it plans to organise exchanges for Vietnamese andThai writers and artists to boost mutual understanding in culture, which inturn could give a boost to bilateral trade.-VNA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE), Vietnam’s agricultural product exports are inevitably affected by disruptions in global supply chains and the imposition of unilateral, stringent tariff policies by major economies. Construction of AEON Hai Duong Shopping Centre kicked off

With a total investment of around 1.18 trillion VND (45.6 million USD), the AEON Hai Duong Shopping Centre is designed with a total floor area of approximately 3.6 hectares. Spanning an estimated gross floor area (GFA) of roughly 38,100 sq.m, the shopping centre will feature ample parking space for nearly 600 cars and 1,200 motorcycles.
