Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam exported 531 million USD worth of goods to Indonesia in the first 10 months of this year, up 6.8 times compared with the same period in 2017, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Rice exports saw the highest rise with 770,968 tonnes worth nearly 362 million USD, up 49.2 times in volume and 65.7 times in value year-on-year.

Between January and October, coffee also brought home 119.7 million USD from exporting more than 60,500 tonnes, representing a year-on-year 10-fold increase.  

In the reviewed period, agricultural products like vegetables, cashew nuts, pepper, tea, coffee, rice, cassava and cassava products, and rubber earned more than 15 billion USD, up 1.75 percent against the same period last year.

However, Vietnam’s exports to major markets like China, the EU and the US dropped 1.2 percent, 7.6 percent and 4.1 percent, respectively.-VNA
