The General Statistics Office (GSO) estimated that the number of internet users in Vietnam saw a decrease of 500,000 from February to stand at 32.1 million in March.
This is the second consecutive months the number of Internet users has decreased.
In February, the number was 32.6 million, down 800,000 from January.
According to GSO, the number of new telephone subscribers in the first quarter of this year was estimated at 2.6 million, up 35.3 % over the same period last year, including 7.6 thousand fixed telephone subscribers and 2.5 million mobile phone subscribers.
By the end of March, the subscribed telephone users were estimated to total 134 million, a rise of 3 percent over the same period last year.
The figure included 15.3 million fixed telephone subscribers, which saw a decrease of 1.6 percent year on year, and 118.7 million mobile phone subscribers, which represented a rise of 3.6 percent year on year.-VNA
