Hanoi (VNA) – A high-ranking delegation of the Vietnam People’s Army is paying an official visit to Singapore from February 28 to March 2 at the invitation of Chief of the Defence Force of Singapore Melvyn Ong.

The delegation is led by Sen. Lt. Gen. Phan Van Giang – member of the Party Central Committee and the Central Military Commission’s standing board, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, and Deputy Minister of National Defence.

During this trip, the two sides are set to share experience in military building, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. 

They will review the outcomes of bilateral cooperation in the recent past and work out measures to promote result-oriented defence ties, thereby further developing the friendship and mutual trust between the states, militaries and peoples of Vietnam and Singapore.

Additionally, international and regional issues of shared concern will also be raised for discussion.-VNA
