The Viglacera Corporation was among 1,032 firms from 23 countries and host country of Algeria , to display their products and services at the 15 th international exhibition of construction machinery and building materials - Batimatec 2012, which ran from May 3-7 in Algiers.
This year’s Batimatec was the largest to date, on a site of 44,000 sqm, and the exhibition also coincides with the 50 th anniversary of Algeria ’s Independence Day.
Viglacera, who appeared at the exhibition for the second time, spotlighted their ceramic products and construction glass, which attracted many visitors and potential partners.
According to Vietnamese Trade Councillor Nguyen Van Mui, the Algerian market offers many opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises in the construction and construction material sectors.
Algeria is currently putting into action its national development plan for the period 2010-2014 with funding worth 286 billion USD. This includes 100 billion USD for housing and infrastructure projects. Vietnamese companies will be able to boost their exports of construction materials to the North African country as well as enter into joint venture agreements.
The two way trade value between Vietnam and Algeria in the first quarter of 2012 reached 53.5 million USD, up 67 percent year on year.
