VinFast automobile factory to become operational in June

Vietnamese automaker VinFast announced on April 16 that the firm will officially put its automobile manufacturing factory into operation in June this year, three month earlier than the initial schedule.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnameseautomaker VinFast announced on April 16 that the firm will officially putits automobile manufacturing factory into operation  in June this year, three month earlier thanthe initial schedule.

With only 21 months for construction and installation, the upcoming operationof the plant will create a new feat in the world automobile industry, especiallyfor a new business like VinFast.

From the end of the first quarter of this year, VinFast has shipped batches of cars to 14countries across Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia to test them forsafety and endurance against standards in those countries. After the strictcrash and technical tests following the international standards, VinFast car modelshave been evaluated positively.

The testing results have reflected the perfection of production lines and the plant’sreadiness level. These are an important basis for VinFast to accelerate theinauguration of its factory.

VinFast Chairwoman Le Thi Thu Thuy said the quality of VinFast vehicles ishighly appreciated by leading inspection centres in the world, adding that thisconfirms the capacity and completion level of production lines of the firm.

VinFast is ready to bring to Vietnamese consumers quality and world-classautomotive products, she said.

The VinFast automobile factory was built with the leading scale and modernityin Southeast Asia. The production process at the factory is completelysynchronized and closed with workshops for stamping, welding, painting, andassembling.

Asscheduled, VinFast will officially sell CUV Fadil model in the second quarterof 2019. Sedan and SUV models branded Lux will reach customers in the thirdquarter this year.

VinFast, the car manufacturing unitof Vietnam’s largest private conglomerate Vingroup, showed off its first twocar models, a sedan and an SUV, at the Paris Motor Show in France last Octoberjust a year after the company’s incorporation, grabbing the attention of thelocal and international media.-VNA
