VinFast tests its first 155 Lux cars abroad

Hanoi (VNA) - The first batch ofVinFast Lux cars have shipped to 14 countries in four continents for qualityand safety tests.

The testing process will last from now to August2019, ensuring all VinFast products meet the high standards of Europe and theworld before being sold on the market.

A total of 155 VinFast cars are scheduled forquality testing, as the first trial production batch, of which 113 arecompleted vehicles and 42 semi-finished cars. The transport process is dividedinto several phases, to 14 countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa andVietnam to ensure VinFast cars respond well to all climate and trafficconditions.

VinFast vehicles will undergo more than 100tests on the testing system of the world’s largest automakers. The aim is forthe cars to achieve 5-star ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast AsianCountries), which is targeted to elevate vehicle safety standards, while meeting the high standards of Europe.

The testing centre of Magna Steyr in Graz,Austria and the Bosch factory in Australia will host the majority of thetesting.

Previously, VinFast sent important componentssuch as engines, chassis and body hulls to foreign testing centres for detailedtests. In addition, each auto part, including thousands of differentcomponents, has undergone hundreds of tests under Magna Steyr’s requirementsand controls.

Kevin Fisher, head engineer of VinFast’s Luxtype, said car quality was the most important part so the company was verystrict and thorough in testing process, ensuring they meet the requirements ofVietnamese users.

After the testing process is over, VinFast willcarry out mass production of commercial versions of Fadil and Lux models. It isexpected the first customers to order these models will start receiving carsfrom the second quarter and the third quarter of this year, respectively.-VNA
