Vinh Phuc province to host 2023 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship

The 2023 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship will take place in the northern province of Vinh Phuc from April 25 to May 2, heard a press conference in Hanoi on April 11.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 2023 Asian Women’s ClubVolleyball Championship will take place in the northern province of Vinh Phuc fromApril 25 to May 2, heard a press conference in Hanoi on April 11.

It will bring together nine teams from host Vietnam,Iran, Japan, Taipei (China), Kazakhstan, Thailand, China, Mongolia and HongKong (China), said Tran Duc Phan, Deputy Director of the National SportsAdministration (NSA) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

He calledthe tournament as key preparations for the Vietnamese women team to play at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) slated for May in Cambodia.

Vietnam’s Sport Centre I and the eight others aredivided into two groups, with the best to represent Asia to compete at a worldtournament in China in December, said Phan, who is also Vice Chairman of theVietnam Volleyball Federation and head of the organising committee.

Apart from the first, second and third prizes for teams,the Asian championship will honour outstanding players with eight titles.

Director of the provincial Department of Culture,Sports and Tourism Bui Hong Do said Vinh Phuc province has made thorough preparations forthe event in terms of both infrastructure and security./.
