Phu Yen asked to take stronger actions in combating IUU fishing

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien asked the south central province of Phu Yen to take stronger actions in combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, while making a field trip to the Dong Tac fishing port in Tuy Hoa city on February 26.

Ministry of National Defence implements measures to curb IUU fishing

The Ministry of National Defence's Steering Committee for Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing Prevention and Control held a conference on southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on November 12 to discuss urgent measures in line with the Prime Minister’s directives to combat illegal fishing.

Disciplinary action taken against officials for violations

The Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission convened its 43rd meeting in Hanoi on July 15-16 under the chair of its head Tran Cam Tu, during which it looked into disciplinary measures against some Party organisations and members.

Phu Yen tightens control of fishing vessels in combating IUU fishing

Authorities in the south central coastal province of Phu Yen have tightened the control of the entry and exit of fishing vessels at ports to prevent unqualified boats from exploitation activities, so no violations relating to illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing have been recorded in the locality since 2019.
