Hanoi (VNA) – A solo exhibition entitled Dreams: Dancing between Two Worlds of visual, graphic artist Tran Quynh will be held in Hanoi.

In this latest exhibition, to be held at Heritage Space, Dolphin Plaza, 28 Tran Binh Street, My Dinh urban zone 2, from June 12 to 30, Quynh will introduce large imprinted copy made in the form of her graphic paintings and space arrangement.

The printed copies are made with different techniques and manipulations such as painting, mono-printing, wood craving, and screen printing on big size pieces of paper.

The modern technology of colour overlapping used in her printing has allowed her the ability to generalise the objects and stories formed via timeline and big landscape.

Quynh’s artistic works are inspired by the collision of her private psychological state in real life, mostly created by the time she has resided and travelled between Vietnam and the United States. They are also, according to her, two spaces, times, and two completely different cultures and social structures.

“My works turn vague, indescribable experiences into the art of visuals. As a Vietnamese woman who is living and working in the US, I am always trying to affirm my ego, while harmonising the difference of cultures between these two societies. I frequently feel that I am in the mood between two different places, and my mind travels in two worlds,” Quynh said.

During the time of exhibition, Quynh will introduce a workshop of collagraph printing, a technique used on the surface of hard material, make use of adhesive material to connect various kinds of objects such as plastic, paper, silk, metal in order to create overlapping, hidden and rising layers of pattern.

Quynh is a visual, graphic and communication artist who comes from Nevada, the US. She has earned her B.F.A (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in Printmaking & Bachelor of Arts in Advertising at the University of North Texas and is pursuing her Master of Fines Art (M.F.A) in Studio Arts – Concentration in Printmaking & Book Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Being active as a professional artist since 2012, Quynh has taken part in many exhibitions and artistic display at Texas, Nevada, Wisconsin and Iowa. Her works are kept in many collections of University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Tennessee, Portland, and Pacific Northwest.

She has received sponsors and awards from Nevada, North Texas Institute of Arts for her productions and lecturing activities. She has also received the award for foreign students, bestowed by University of Nevada in 2015, and is a member of organisations such as College Book Art Association, Southern Graphics Council International and Ink Head UNR Printmaking Club.-VNA
