Vietnam and China have agreed to enhance the exchange of high-level and expert delegations to share information and experience in combating drug trafficking, terrorism, counterfeit currency and hi-tech crimes and safeguarding inland security.
The agreement was reached at the talks between Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Sen. Lieut. Gen. Tran Dai Quang and his Chinese counterpart Meng Jianzhu in Beijing on Jan. 5.
The ministers also agreed to beef up cooperation in training police officers and improve their professionalism, foreign languages, science-technology and martial arts as well as providing each other with equipment and devices.
Quang said that the results of cooperation between the two ministries have contributed to maintaining social order and security of each country and boosting the traditional relationship between the two Parties, States and peoples.
Later on the day, Quang met with Zhou Yongkang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and Secretary of the Committee of Political and Legislative Affairs of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
Quang, who is on an official visit to China from Jan. 4-7, informed his host of the earlier talks with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of State Security and the People’s Armed Police Force of China.
Zhou highly valued the outcomes of cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of State Security and the People’s Armed Police Force of China. He also expressed his hope that the two sides will further bolster cooperation under the instruction of the two Parties and Governments./.
