VN futsal teams to face Thailand at SEA Games

The Vietnamese women’s and men’s futsal teams will face defending champions Thailand in the opener of the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Malaysia on August 18, per the event’s draw.

Hanoi (VNA) - TheVietnamese women’s and men’s futsal teams will face defending championsThailand in the opener of the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Malaysia onAugust 18, per the event’s draw.

“These will be very important matches in the fight of gaining gold medal so Vietnamfutsal will make every effort to win,” said Tran Quoc Tuan, Vice President ofthe Vietnam Football Federation.

Vietnam’s male team will then face Malaysia on August 20, Myanmar on August 22and Indonesia on August 25.

[SEA Games: Women target gold, men final berth]

Meanwhile, the women will compete with Malaysia on August 22, Myanmar on August25 and Indonesia on August 27.

Both events will be in a round-robin format and run until August 27 at thePanasonic Sports Complex.

The 29th SEA Games will take place in Kuala Lumpur from August19-30, with 38 sports. This will be the sixth time Malaysia hosts the games andits first time was in 2001.-VNA
