A project to assist agencies of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party in applying information technology (IT) was launched on Jan. 8 in Vientiane.
The two- year project, to be implemented by Viettel Group of Vietnam and Unitel (a joint venture of Viettel and Laos Asia Telecom) at a cost of 3.5 million USD, will build an intranet linking Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee’s Office with five other Party agencies.
The project also includes setting up a website of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and establishing an information gate allowing officials to work and coordinate with each other through the intranet as well as building a database to manage documents and data./.
