VN investors get red carpet treatment in Laos

Lao Deputy Prime Minister Thongloun Sousilih presented Friendship Medals to Le Van Kiem, the Chief Executive Officer and Tran Cam Nhung, the General Director, of the Long Thanh-Vientiane economic zone, for their important contributions to Vietnamese-Laotian ties and Laos’ socio-economic development in particular.

Speakingat the presentation ceremony on Apr. 11 in Vientiane , Sousilihpraised the proactive moves taken by the two Vietnamese business leadersduring their time in the country and for donating nearly 5 million USDto support Lao people.

The Deputy Prime Ministersaid that he hopes the construction of the Long Thanh-Vientiane economiczone will be completed on schedule and becomes a symbol of cooperationbetween both countries.

Le Van Kiem, a veteran whowas born in 1945, thanked the Lao Government for encouraging andenabling his firm to make various investments in the country.

He is also committed to his charitable activities and is keen to buildon the special relationship that Vietnam and Laos have forged overthe years.-VNA

Prime Minister to hold dialogue with youth on startups, innovation

Memorial service held for 731 fallen soldiers in Ho Chi Minh City

From June 23 to October 5, Team K74 and other forces recovered 731 sets of martyrs’ remains from the park. Biological samples and DNA samples collected from relatives of unidentified fallen soldiers are being analysed and stored in the national gene bank to support identification efforts.

Russia waives visa requirements for Vietnamese tourists

According to a notice published on the official website of Russia’s Ministry of Justice, Vietnamese citizens can now stay in Russia for up to 30 consecutive days, provided their purpose of travel is not employment.

Saigon River pedestrian bridge set to be joined on October 21

The assembly comprises a main bridge structure weighing about 1,400 tonnes and a specialised steel supporting frame weighing around 2,000 tonnes. During testing, about 30 self-propelled modular transporters were used to lift the assembly 40cm off the ground for technical inspections. Sensors and monitoring equipment recorded key parameters.
