Vietnameseofficials from the Commission for External Relations of the CommunistParty of Vietnam Central Committee made the remarks during workingsessions with Filipino politicians, diplomats and parliamentarians,which formed part of their working visit to the Philippines fromMarch 6-10.
They held talks with the Liberal Party’s delegationled by its President Mar Roxas and met with President of the House ofRepresentatives Sonny Del Monte, Foreign Minister Albert Del Rosario,and Senator Franklin Drilon among others.
The Filipino leadersand Vietnamese officials talked about recent developments in theirrespective countries and discussed regional and international issues ofcommon concern.
The two sides also discussed measuresto promote the ties between the parties and the multi-dimensionalcooperation between the two countries, agreeing to speed up diplomaticrelations of the parties and states and exchanges between people.
During the visit, the Vietnamese delegation laid a wreath at themonument dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh in Manila, met withofficials of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines, and visited theInternational Rice Research Institute.-VNA
