The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Mercatus Capital Corporation of Singapore held a seminar in Hanoi on August 23 on promoting international cooperation in luring healthcare investment.
Addressing the event, Doan Duy Khuong, VCCI Vice President, said only 7-8 percent of the gross domestic products are put towards the public health sector in Vietnam, which remains modest.
The event offers a chance for businesses to seek cooperation with foreign investment funds, thus developing the healthcare sector on par with advanced countries in the region, Khuong said.
Ravidran Govindan, President of Mercatus Capital Corporation, said the event aims to raise public awareness of healthcare field, including investment opportunities, technology and other systems.
Participants at the event discussed macro-economic indices and the investment environment in Vietnam, incentives for FDI projects and the stated management policies on healthcare, as well as the forecasts on supply and demand for public and private healthcare services in the country.-VNA
