A charitable programme run by the Tin Tức (News) newspaper of the Vietnam News Agency has presented gifts to disadvantaged students in the northern mountainous province of Son La.

The gifts, worth 500,000 VND each were given to 60 students in the border districts of Song Ma and Sop Cop.

The programme aims to encourage disadvantaged students to continue going to school, and in the future will seek ways to help improving the life of poor households.

Since its launching in August, the programme has supported dozens of disadvantaged students and households in the central and northwestern regions.

On the occasion, the Vietnam News Agency’s fund for Agent Orange victims presented 10 gifts worth 500,000 VND each to families of Agent Orange victims in the province.-VNA
