The State-run Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the northern midland province of Phu Tho have signed an agreement on communication cooperation, allowing both sides to support each other in the field.
Under the deal, signed by VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh in Phu Tho on June 3, the province will provide information to VNA correspondents in the locality while creating favourable conditions for them in their operations.
For its part, the VNA will publish news on Phu Tho in an accurate, timely and all-encompassing manner. The agency will also design plans to provide communications support to Phu Tho with suitable space in all media forms it publishes.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Anh said Phu Tho is famous for its two UNESCO-recognised world cultural heritages of “xoan” signing and the worship of Hung Kings.
He said he hopes the comprehensive image of Phu Tho as well as the province’s socio-economic development potential, advantages and culture will be disseminated to the community through the VNA’s publications and other media forms, helping the locality attract investment and boost tourism and services.
Meanwhile, the VNA leader pledged the agency will assist Phu Tho in communications for both internal and foreign relations purposes, including introducing the unique heritages of Phu Tho, he said.-VNA
