Leaders of the Vietnam News Agency and the Northwest, Southwest and Central Highlands Steering Committees agreed to promote information cooperation at a conference in the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho on March 16.

Under the agreement, VNA’s daily newspaper Tin Tuc will become an information channel of the three steering committees in publicising the Party and State’s policies in the three regions.

At the conference, the delegates highlighted the role of the VNA as an official national news channel providing accurate information to all people, as well as rejecting distorted or untrue information by hostile forces about socio-economic development in the above-mentioned regions.

General Director Nguyen Duc Loi said that the VNA will strengthen and upgrade the role of its existing bureaus in three regional hubs of Dak Lak, Yen Bai and Can Tho.
