VPBank hands over more than 1,000 ventilators to pandemic-hit southern region

Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commmercial Bank (VPBank) handed over more than 1,000 ventilators to 19 cities and provinces in the southern region as the fourth wave of COVID-19 infections has caused a severe shortage.

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) – Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commmercial Bank (VPBank)handed over more than 1,000 ventilators to 19 cities and provinces in thesouthern region as the fourth wave of COVID-19 infections has caused a severeshortage.

VPBankworked with suppliers to hire three special flights to directly transport thedevices to Tan Son Nhat Airport last week.

Thefirst ventilators were sent to Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, TraVinh, Can Tho, Long An, Vinh Long, Tien Giang and Ba Ria-Vung Tau following thereceipt and distribution of the Ministry of Health.

Thishas been the second time in less than a month that VPBank has provided modernrespiratory support equipment for the prevention of COVID-19 in the southernregion. In mid-July, the bank completed the delivery of 715 high-functioninginvasive and non-invasive ventilators and high-flow oxygen humidificationsystems to localities.

VPBankhas sent a total of 1,715 high-functioning invasive and non-invasiveventilators and 500 high-flow oxygen humidification systems as well as manyother equipment and supplies to HCM City and the southern provinces totreat COVID-19 patients.

VPBankexpects the modern ventilator system and medical supplies would contribute toincreasing resources, effectively supporting the health sector in the southernregion in response to the COVID-19 pandemic./.

Vietnam performs first awake brain surgery on child patient

The hospital announced on May 19 that the patient, a 12-year-old boy, recovered well after surgery, remained fully conscious and showed no new focal neurological deficits.
