Nghe An (VNA) – Military forces in the central province of Nghe An on May 13 successfully disposed of a wartime bomb whose detonator was still intact weighing 340kg.
On May 7, a man discovered an object resembling a bomb of over one metre long while plowing a field in the C4 area of the Ba Hang hill in Nam Dan district’s Nam Nghia commune.
Immediately, the incident was reported to local authorities. The Nam Nghia Military Command swiftly deployed forces to cordon off the area and organised round-the-clock patrols, preventing people and livestock from approaching.
The explosive object was identified as a Mark 82 low-drag general-purpose bomb, measuring 35cm in diameter and 155cm in length. It was then transported to the Nam Dan shooting range area for a safe disposal./.
