WB, central provinces meet on environmental sanitation project

Khanh Hoa (VNA) – Representatives from the World Bank and four centralprovinces met in Khanh Hoa province on December 2 to appraise a WB-funded environmentalsanitation project in four coastal cities in the four provinces.

The cities are DongHoi in Quang Binh province, Quy Nhon in Binh Dinh province, Nha Trang in KhanhHoa province and Phan Rang – Thap Cham in Ninh Thuan province.

According to theWB’s working team, the goal of the project is to improve access toenvironmental sanitation services and the effectiveness of sanitationfacilities in target cities.

Around 1.1million residents in the four cities will benefit from the project, as will thelocal tourism industry.

The totalinvestment of the project is 273 million USD, of which 46 million USD comesfrom the International Bank for Reconstruction andDevelopment, 190 million USD from theInternational Development Associationprovides and 37 million USD from the Vietnamese side.

The projectconsists of four components: expanding sanitation infrastructure, improvingurban connectivity, land clearance, and assisting institutional reform. It willbe implemented from June, 2017, to December 2022.

Nguyen Huu Hoai,Chairman of the Quang Binh People’s Committee, said this is a very importantproject serving the community and Quang Binh pledges to provide sufficient correspondingcapital to ensure quality and progress of the project.-VNA

Vietnam, IAEA comprehensively assess national nuclear power infrastructure
