Hanoi (VNA) – A webinar celebrating the 70th founding anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations washeld on August 28.

The event wasco-hosted by the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam’s Institute for Foreign Policy and Strategic Studies, the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam and the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies under the People’s University of China.

Inhis opening speech, Assistant Vietnamese Foreign Minister Nguyen Van Thao said China wasthe first country in the world to establish diplomatic ties with Vietnam. In thepast seven decades, the friendship and cooperation have always beena mainstream in bilateral ties.

TheVietnamese Party and Government always attach importance to developing thebilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and stay ready tofurther boost mutually-beneficial cooperation, both bilaterally and multilaterally,he said, adding that the healthy and stable development of the bilateral friendshipand coordination contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the regionand the world.

Amidthe complicated developments of the political-economic situation in the world, Thaohoped that experts from the two nations will conduct in-depth researches and exchange views tocontribute to the bilateral relationship.

ChineseAmbassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo, for his part, stressed that the bilateral traditionalfriendship nurtured by generations of leader is an invaluable asset of the twoParties and countries that needs to be further developed.

Hewished that China and Vietnam would fully implement common important perceptionsreached by senior leaders of the two Parties and countries, and carry forward thebilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Atthe event, Vietnamese and Chinese scholars discussed the 70-year Vietnam-China relationshipas well as regional and global issues of shared concern./.

Nghia described the ongoing 500-day campaign as a sacred mission that embodies the Vietnamese tradition of remembering those who served and sacrificed for the nation. PM calls for building elite, professional international search and rescue force

During its mission from June 29 to July 7, the team worked around the clock under extremely hazardous conditions amid heavily damaged and contaminated disaster zones. Despite the challenges, rescue personnel recovered 57 victims' bodies and handed them over to local authorities and families. They also identified and reported several suspected locations where additional victims might be trapped.
