Hanoi (VNA) – Weightlifter Vuong Thi Huyen on April 21 earned three goldmedals at the ongoing 2019 Asian Weightlifting Championships in Ningbo, China.

She lifted73 kg in the snatch and 92 kg in the jerk, totalling 165 kg to claim the goldsof snatch, jerk and total in women’s 45kg division.

Meanwhile,Khong My Phuong bagged a bronze medal as she lifted 70 kg in the snatch andranked fourth with a total of 157 kg.

Earlieron April 20, Thach Kim Tuan seized a bronze medal after a snatch of 136 kg inmen’s 61 kg division.

The weightliftingtournament, taking place from April 20 to 28, is drawing the participation of278 athletes from 28 nations and regions. It is among sporting events designedfor those to earn points and book spots at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.-VNA
