Tay Ninh (VNA) – Forest rangers in the southern province of Tay Ninh's Tan Bien district and the Lo Go - Xa Mat National Park Management Board on February 25 caught a man engaging in illegal wildlife hunting in the national park.
The poacher, Tran Van Binh, 57 years old, residing in Tan Nam hamlet, Tan Binh commune, Tan Bien district, was found with a homemade gun and three poached animals including two cheo cheo (Chevrotain) classified in group IIB of endangered, rare wildlife as per Decree 84/2021/ND-CP and a hawk (Pandion haliaetus).
Previously, Tan Bien district's forest rangers and the national park management board also uncovered another group of wildlife poachers. They were involved in illegal hunting of seven long-tailed monkeys which are also classified as endangered, rare wildlife in group IIB. The monkey weighing between 0.7 to 2.2 kg were found alive and kept in plastic bags./.
