Winners of Mrs Ao Dai Vietnam Europe 2018 announced

The Mrs Ao Dai Vietnam Europe 2018 pageant took place in the Czech Republic from June 15-16 (local time) with the aim to honour the graceful and delicate beauty of Vietnam’s traditional long dress.

Prague (VNA) – The Mrs Ao Dai Vietnam Europe 2018pageant took place in Prague capital of the Czech Republic from June 15-16(local time) with the purpose to honour the graceful and delicate beauty ofVietnam’s traditional long dress.

The pageant, the first of its kind, attracted theparticipation of 90 Vietnamese women living in Austria, Poland, Bulgaria,Germany, Holland, Hungary, Norway, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Organisers also hoped the event will direct the attention ofyoung Vietnamese living abroad to the history and value of the traditionalcostume.

First prizes of the pageant were granted to Dang Thi BichLan from Germany in the age group of over 51, and Tran Hoang Mai Anh fromPoland in the age group of 35-50.

Along with the first prizes, the organising board alsoannounced three second and four third prizes, and several extra prizes.

Lucas Kaucky, former Deputy Foreign Minister of the CzechRepublic and head of the Prague Council for Ethnic Minorities, said he wasimpressed by the event.

The pageant demonstrated the close relationship betweenCzech and Vietnamese peoples through the popularisation of Vietnam’s culture,including its traditional costume.

The second pageant will be organised in Dresden, Germany, in2020.-VNA
