Hanoi (VNA) – An awarding ceremony of the sixth National Press Awards on Party Building, called “Bua Liem Vang” (Golden Hammer & Sickle), will be held in Hanoi on January 21, 2022. Speaking at a meeting of the steering committee and organising board of the press awards on December 27, deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission Mai Van Chinh said that from 110 entries selected to the final round, the jury chose 64 outstanding works, including six A, 12 B, 16 C and 30 consolation prizes, and 10 thematic prizes for the most outstanding work on the dissemination of the 13th National Party Congress, the one on protecting the ideological foundation of the Party, and the one on the struggle against “peaceful evolution”, among others.
In addition, the organising board will honour 15 press agencies, journalists' associations, and the municipal, provincial Party Committees’ boards on information and education, and organisation with outstanding achievements in holding and responding to the Press Awards. Three agencies with creative communication products on Party building work will also be honoured.
At the fifth National Press Awards on Party Building, the jury presented one special prize, five A prizes, 10 B prizes, 16 C prizes and 27 consolation prizes.
The 90-episode documentary series “Vietnam in the Ho Chi Minh Era –Televisual Annals”, developed by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, won the special prize.
Meanwhile, the photo reportage “The entire political system and people join hands in the fight against COVID-19” of a group of photojournalists from the Vietnam News Agency got the A prize. The reportage demonstrates Vietnam’s success in disease prevention and control, with Vietnamese citizens brought home from disease-hit areas, as well as the disease prevention and control work at concentrated quarantine facilities and hospitals./.
