Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam women’s football team arrived inKathmandu for the first qualifying round of the Olympic Paris 2024.

The team will have two matches with the host Nepal women’s team in Group C on April 5 and 8 in Kathmandu. There are only twoteams in this group after Afghanistan and Palestine withdrew. The winner will advance to the second qualifier.

Speaking at a press conference on April 4, Coach MaiDuc Chung said that after a flight of about 22 hours, the team will make necessary preparation and play to the fullest of its capacity.

Striker Huynh Nhu said that despite the difference in rankings,Vietnam women’s football team respects all opponents.

Nepalese women's team has mastered good technique and improved a lot inrecent years, so the matches will be tough one for Vietnam, she added./.
