The women's national football team of Vietnam has dropped from the 29th to 35th place in the latest FIFA rankings for the first quarter of the year, with 1,620 points.

Hanoi (VNA) - The women's national football team of Vietnam has dropped from the 29th to 35th place in the latest FIFA rankings for the first quarter of the year, with 1,620 points.

The team plunged on the ranking after finishing last in the third Olympic 2016 qualification round that took place in Osaka, Japan in March.

Vietnam placed seventh in the Asian rankings, following Thailand.

Australia led in Asia with 2,014 points, followed by Japan, the Democratic Republic of North Korea, China and the Republic of Korea.

The US continues to lead in the world ranking, ahead of Germany, France, the UK, Australian, Sweden, Japan, Brazil, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Canada.-VNA

Moscow to host Vietnam Culture Festival for first time

Photo exhibition highlights Vietnam–Israel cultural ties
