Vientiane (VNA) – Chairwoman ofthe Vietnamese Women’s Union (VWU) Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and her Lao counterpartInlavan Keobounphan discussed cooperative measures to prevent human traffickingand violence against women and children at talks in Vientiane on September 7.

Both agreed to intensify the exchange ofhigh-level delegations, sharing information and experience, and educating thetwo countries’ women about bilateral relations.

They also decided to maintain closecoordination at regional and international forums, working together tosafeguard border security and building a border of peace, friendship andstability.

After the talks, the two sides inked acooperation agreement for 2017-2022, which includes measures to tighten collaborationbetween the unions, thus nurturing Vietnam-Laos relations.

On the occasion, the VWU presented gifts to theLao Women’s Union and Lao heroic mothers.
