They were updated with policiesfacilitating the use of the model in the region, and marketopportunities for providers of hygiene services in Southeast Asia.
They also learnt about the latest regulations on wastewatermanagement, and decentralised wastewater treatment systems currently inuse in several localities.
Representatives from the UnitedNations Human Settlements Programme and the UN Economic and SocialCommission for the Asia-Pacific praised the initiatives that Vietnam putforth at the event, saying that they will be helpful not only for thedesign of the country’s own strategy on waste management but also forother countries in the region.
The event was co-hosted by theVietnam Association of Conservation of Nature and Environment and theMinistry of Natural Resources and Environment’s General Department ofEnvironment.-VNA
