The first elimination round of the World Cup Three-Cushion Carom Billiards tournament opened in Ho Chi Minh City on August 10.

This is the first time Vietnam has hosted such asn event which draws the participation of more than 140 players from 17 countries, including Vietnam, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Egypt and Japan.

All the great stars of three cushion billiards will be present at the prestigious event, which will prove to be a great challenge for participants as they compete for the highest world rankings of the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB).

Among the Vietnamese competitors are Nguyen Quoc Nguyen and Tran Quoc Chien who received the organisation’s wild cards.

The elimination round will run until August 13 and the final round will be held from August 14 to 16.-VNA
