World Tourism Day 2021, which is observed on September 27 annually, will focus on “Tourism for Inclusive Growth” this year, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) at the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism.

Hanoi (VNA) – World TourismDay 2021, which is observed on September 27 annually, will focus on “Tourismfor Inclusive Growth” this year, according to the Vietnam NationalAdministration of Tourism (VNAT) at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The United Nations WorldTourism Organisation (UNWTO) re-affirmed a commitment that nobody is leftbehind as the world begins to open up again and look to the future, in a bid tobuild a more prosperous and peaceful world through tourism.

Deputy Minister of Culture,Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet recently attended a ministerial session on re-openingASEAN tourism destinations for international tourists held withinthe framework of Global Tourism Indonesia 2021.

Viet said that inSeptember, the Prime Minister ordered studying a pilot programme to welcomeinternational tourists to Phu Quoc island offshore southern Kien Giang province.

The Ministry of Culture,Sports and Tourism is mulling over the plan and working to choose suitablegroup of tourists and step up vaccinations in Phu Quoc before the launch of thepilot programme scheduled for October.

In the projectedprocedures, before arrival, visitors will be asked to install the “Vietnam SafeTravel” app to fill in vaccination status and necessary medical information. AQR code will be generated to each holidaymaker.

The VNAT over the time has strived to update, improve andcomplete functions of the app so as to serve international tourists, including displayin English language and the integration of COVID-19 vaccine verification systemin line with European standards./.
