Vietnam’s National Wrestling Championship 2015 opened on March 25 at the Bac Giang Province Sports Gymnasium, with 178 wrestlers set to compete.
Athletes from 16 provinces and cities will grapple for 28 gold medals at the event. Male wrestlers will vie for glory in two events: Greco-Roman wrestling and freestyle. Competitors will be divided into nine different weight categories.
Female wrestlers will compete in a freestyle event, with 10 weight classes ranging from 44 to 75 kilograms.
With many experienced athletes, sports teams from Bac Giang and Bac Ninh Provinces and the Ministry of Public Security are expected to compete for the top three places in the overall ranking table.
