The decision was made after Vietnam ’s second request for the establishment of the panel at a session of the WTO’s Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) in Geneva on May 18.
Tran Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Chief Representative of the Vietnamese Permanent Mission to the UN, the WTO and other international organisations in Geneva , stated that one purpose of the understanding on rules and procedures governing the settlement of disputes (DSU) is to promote resolution of disputes through discussions between the parties.
