Xuong Giang Festival - a proud historical event of Vietnam
The festival celebrating the Xuong Giang victory in Bac Giang is held from the 5th to the 7th day of the first lunar month. It has become a major festival in the province, attracting visitors from the surrounding areas near Xuong Giang citadel.
A culture and tourism week is taking place in the northern province of Bac Giang from January 29 to February 12 under the theme “Bac Giang – the sacred land of Tay Yen Tu”.
The northern province of Bac Giang is striving to serve 2.5 million tourists in 2020, according to Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Minh Ha.
The battle of Chi Lang-Xuong Giang in 1427 was a decisive milestone marking the victory of Dai Viet (now Vietnam) under King Le Loi’s command against invaders from the North of the country, the Ming dynasty.
