Yen Bai (VNA) – Various cultural activities will dazzle audiences throughout Muong Lo Culture Tourism Week, scheduled to take place in Nghia Lo town, the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai from September 23-29.
The activities include art performances on the traditional cultural values of Muong Lo-Nghia Lo and Mu Cang Chai lands, performance of “khen be”- a unique bamboo musical instrument of Thai ethnic people, food street and community-based tourism activities.
Additionally, a paragliding festival will be held from September 23-24 at Mu Cang Chai district’s Khau Pha mountain pass, one of the longest mountain passes in Vietnam at more than 1,200 metres above sea level.
The event themed “flying over ripening rice fields” will feature a paragliding show from foreign and local pilots. For adrenaline seekers, paragliding offers an opportunity to experience airborne adventure and breathtaking views.
Adventure tourism to discover Ta Xua and Ta Chi Nhu peaks as well as Hang Te Cho waterfall will be introduced in Van Chan and Tram Tau districts, while the province will join hands with travel agents to popularise community-based tourism in villages in Van Chan district.
The province has asked districts and towns to devise organising plans while ensuring security, social order and traffic safety in places hosting events.
Food security has also been a focus, with Nghia Lo town setting up inspection groups to control the food quality of 150 restaurants and hotels in the town.
Meanwhile, Mu Cang Chai district has made meticulous preparation for the week. Although it experienced historical floods in August, the district has repaired public works and local accommodation facilities.-VNA
