Young people and passion for reviving craft villages

Many young people choose to come back to their roots to contribute to the revival of traditional craft villages.

Many young people choose to come back to their roots to contribute to the revival of traditional craft villages.

Amidst the context, classes to train young artisans have been organised to retain the trade, creating an opportunity for them to pursue a career path in craft making. Dao Thanh Son is among the learners, who has left office work in Hanoi to return to his hometown.

To old artisans, young people getting interested in the traditional craft is a good signal, that also means they have to reorganise the curriculum and teaching materials to make them more approachable for youngsters.

There are more than 5,400 traditional craft villages nationwide. If the number of young people interested in the trade keeps growing, it will keep the flame of old artisans burning, as well as improving the living conditions of local people.-VNA
