Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has urged the Chinese province of Yunnan and Vietnamese provinces along the border to enhance cooperation to match the full potential of all concerned.
At a reception for the Governor of Yunnan Li Jiheng, in Hanoi on April 3, Nhan proposed that Yunnan share their experiences in urban management and environmental and forestry protection with Vietnam, as well as get the Thanh Thuy international border gate into operation once more to enhance trade between Vietnam and China.
Li said that this visit will strengthen friendship and cooperation with neighbouring Vietnamese localities in the fields of economics, trade, education, training, culture, sports and mining.
He said both parties need to work closer to deal with current challenges, to create the best possible conditions to promote bilateral cooperation and investment in an effective and practical manner.-VNA
