Australia officially imports fresh longan from Vietnam
Vietnam has successfully exported fresh longan fruit to strict markets such as the US,Japan, the Republic of Korea, the EU and Australia and met the food safety and hygiene.
The Vietnam Trade Office in Australia is working to help Vietnamese longan exporters to obtain an import licence from the Australian Government as soon as possible.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong had a meeting with Australian Senator and Minister for Agriculture Bridget McKenzie in Hanoi on August 29, where they discussed measures to boost agricultural cooperation.
The first batch of late-ripening longan of Hanoi’s Hoai Duc district is scheduled to reach Melbourne city, Australia, on September 6, the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said.
