Phnom Penh (VNA) Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Veng Sakhon has urged Belarus to increase its investment in Cambodia, particularly in automobiles and farm produce for export, according to the Cambodia Daily on April 28.

During a meeting between Cambodian Minister Sakhon and Belarusian Deputy Minister of Industry Gennady B.Svidersky on April 26, Cambodia spoke highly of two-way trade over the past, including effective bilateral agricultural ties, as evidenced by Belarus facilitating the import of farm produce and rubber from Cambodia.

Sakhon asked for enhancing links between Cambodian and Belarusian farming and industry sectors, partly by opening a plant to manufacture automobiles and farm produce processing machinery in Cambodia.

The Belarusian side expressed a wish to boost the export of trucks to Cambodia in the nearest timeframe.-VNA
