Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodia on April 4 inaugurated a national sport complex to serve the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 32) in 2023.
The facility was built with a total investment of 150 million USD on an area of 85 hectares, 10km to the northeast of Phnom Penh. It comprises 20 works, each serves several sports. Some of its key works have been put into operation.
The same day, construction of a 60,000-seat stadium kicked off. The stadium will be the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of SEA Games 32 as well as athletics and football tournaments.
Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen expressed his hope that the hosting of SEA Games 32 will contribute to enhancing Cambodia’s position and tourism development while introducing its customs and traditional culture to international friends.-VNA
