Cambodia stands ready and is committed to implement the post-2015 vision as ASEAN remains as an important cornerstone of Cambodia's foreign policy, according to Ambassador Norng Sakal, Cambodian Permanent Representative to ASEAN.
Ambassador Sakal made the statement at a ceremony held in Jakarta on August 27 to present his letter of credentials to ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh.
Recognising the prevailing challenges to realising the ASEAN Community by the end of this year, both Secretary General Minh and Ambassador Sakal held the belief that ASEAN will need to exert greater efforts to overcome obstacles in implementing the remaining measures under the Roadmap for an ASEAN Community (2009-2015).
They also agreed that the Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) and the ASEAN Secretariat should continue to work closely to ensure effective and timely implementation of relevant Secretariat recommendations as well as to achieve tasks set by the leaders.
Ambassador Sakal expressed his gratitude to SG Minh for the continued support of the ASEAN Secretariat to his Government and Embassy in Jakarta.-VNA
