Phnom Penh (VNA) – Representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia presented Tet gifts to Vietnamese expatriates living in Kampong Speu province during their visit to the locality on February 2 on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.

Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy Nguyen Trac Toan said the Party and State always attach importance to overseas Vietnamese communities, including those in Cambodia, affirming that they are an indispensable part of the homeland.

He advised the community to integrate into their host country as this contributes to relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.

On the same day, Metfone, a subsidiary of Vietnam’s military-run telecom group Viettel in Cambodia i n cooperation with the General Association of Vietnamese people in the country, offered 150 Tet gift packages to compatriots living in Phnom Penh.

In recent years, the embassy and Vietnamese businesses operating in Cambodia, and Vietnamese donors always arrange visits and present gifts to overseas Vietnamese living in the country, bringing a happy new year to them.-VNA
