Garment businesses attend int’l fair in Paris

The annual professional event aims to introduce new trends for fashion designs and collections and designs from prestigious global fashion houses.

The “Who’s Next” fair, attended by more than 1,000 garment and textile businesses from over 30 countries worldwide, provides an opportunity for manufacturers and importers to discuss and sign contracts.

Tong Thi Thu Ha, Deputy General Director from Vieba Garment and Knitwear Co, Ltd (Vieba), said that the first participation in such a fair will offer a new opportunity to the company to study the use of materials and create high-level designs to penetrate the European market.

Louk Grauwen, a CBI design expert, highlighted the quality of Vietnamese garment products, noting that to conquer the European market, businesses need to invest in designing and selecting materials and colours in line with the tastes of European consumers.

Vietnamese ambassador to France Duong Chi Dung praised domestic businesses for involvement in such a bigger arena, which marked the shifting from outsourcing to self-designing.

He suggested businesses enhance their linkages to develop their trademarks and expand export markets.

On the occasion, the Vietnamese businesses also met with French garment importers, including retail group Casino, to introduce their products.-VNA
