Mid-Autumn Festival comes to little cancer patients

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a chance for kids all around Vietnam to enjoy good times with family and friends and take part in entertainment programmes. For kids undergoing cancer treatment, however, this special time of year is just like every other day. So this year the young patients at the Da Nang City Oncology Hospital are being given a special Mid-Autumn Festival.

Young kids undergoing treatment at the Da Nang City Oncology Hospital had the chance to be part of a special programme called “Trung thu cho em” (Mid-Autumn Festival for me), with fun performances, lion dances, and quizzes, to give the festival more meaning.

Spiritual gifts like this give the young patients additional motivation to continue fighting their illness. Gifts were also presented to kids in difficult circumstances.

Da Nang has also organised other Mid-Autumn Festival programmes for children in special circumstances.

Being able to participate in programmes like this is certain to give the kids some wonderful memories. The programme not only brings joy to the children but also their parents, providing all with extra motivation to overcome life’s difficulties./.
