Ninh Thuan promoting community-based tourism

Community-based tourism in Ninh Thuan province has recorded significant growth, with individuals and organisations investing in converting agricultural land into experiential tourism destinations.

Located at the foot of Ngoan Muc Pass, Lam Son commune in Ninh Thuan province’s Ninh Son district benefits from a cool climate throughout the year.

Leveraging the favourable natural conditions, local residents have expanded fruit cultivation to nearly 1,400 hectares while simultaneously developing ecotourism.

Nguyen Ngoc Thanh’s family cultivates 1.5 hectares of fruit, generating annual income of over 36,800 USD). Ecotourism contributes to the revenue source.

Elsewhere, Nguyen Thai Lai established the Hon Thien mural village - another community-based tourism model. Along the “mural road”, artists have created beautiful images depicting local daily life.

Visitors to Hon Thien village can also engage in other exciting activities, such as kayaking and mountain climbing, enjoy seafood caught and prepared by local fishermen, and learn about the local culture.

Since the beginning of this year, Ninh Thuan has welcomed over 2.6 million visitors, an increase of over 21% year-on-year. Its tourism industry raked in about 86 million USD in revenue./.
